Lallemand Animal Nutrition has developed an educational tool for dairy and beef producers, technicians, herd managers and students: the Rumen Management Program CD-Rom.

Using animated graphics and videos, this multimedia tool explains the inner workings of the rumen, and describes the problems that can occur during the life cycle of dairy or beef cattle and the impact on health and performance. It also provides solutions for managing the rumen successfully, which will help in preserving animal health and profitability.

The Lallemand Animal Nutrition team took part in the Expoaviga 2008 international exhibition that took place in Barcelona, April 15 –18, 2008, to present its latest news and developments: the European authorizations of Levucell^® SC (Saccharomyces cerevisiae CNCM I-1077) in dairy ewes and goats, and of Alkosel^{® R397}, the biodisponible source of organic selenium, in all animal species. The company also introduced the new communication of Levucell^® SB, the live yeast for sows and piglets (Saccharomyces cerevisiae var. boulardii CNCM I-1079).

The exhibition was visited by more than 25,000 professionals of the sector coming from all over Spain and countries such as Italy, Serbia, France, Mexico and Chile, among others. The exhibition was complemented by the BCN Expoaviga Congress.

Over the past few weeks, Lallemand Animal Nutrition has strengthened its visibility in Asia with its participation to Dairy Focus Asia 2008, Asia’s independent technical conference for progressive dairy farmers, nutritionists and veterinarians, that took place in Bangkok, Thailand, as well as products advert campaigns in leading professional journals. The Center for Veterinary Medicine of the FDA has agreed to allow an important functionality claim for live yeast applied in ruminant feeding based on a research dossier of more than 39 published trials submitted by Lallemand Animal Nutrition.
