Grenaa, Denmark – To mark the official EU authorization of ALKOSEL® R397, its premium source of organic selenium, Lallemand has hosted an international Selenium Yeast Seminar in Grenaa (Denmark). Grenaa is home of one of the yeast fermentation plants where ALKOSEL® R397 is produced to the highest standards (FAMI-QS, ISO 9001:2000).

The authorization of ALKOSEL® R397, Lallemand’s organic selenium yeast product based on specific yeast strain Saccharomyces cerevisiae NCYC R397, has been published on June, 8th 2007 in the Official Journal of the European Union.
ALKOSEL® R397 is now authorized in Europe as a nutritional feed additive for all animal species under the number EC N°3b8.11. [...]

Lallemand announced that Alkosel®(a source of organic selenium based on a specific yeast strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae – NCYC R397 – ) has received a favorable opinion for use in all animal species from the European Food Safety Authority’s (EFSA) Scientific Panel on Additives and Products or Substances used in Animal Feed.
