02-18-08 : Milan University confirms Bactocell benefits on layers performance

A new trial conducted by Milan University Department of Veterinary Science and Technologies for Food Safety highlights the benefits of Bactocell supplementation on laying hens zootechnical performance: egg yield and feed efficacy were increased. This new trial corroborates earlier work conducted on laying hens (Dr Awaad, Egypt 2005).p8240004.jpg

When Hy-line W36 hens were fed Bactocell (at 100 g/ton feed) during their whole laying cycle, overall egg yield was improved as compared to control diet: the hens laid more eggs (laying rate is increased by 2%), of bigger size (the proportion of L size eggs increased from 17.36% to 21.24%). At the same time, the amount of feed consumed did not change, resulting in better feed conversion rate thanks to the action of Bactocell in the gut. This aspect is particularly interesting as raw material prices puts extra pressure on farmers.
