$14,000 awarded to support agricultural education and innovation
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – January 5, 2026 – Lallemand Animal Nutrition (LAN) is proud to announce the 2025 recipients of its 11th annual LAN Scholarship Program. Five outstanding students are recognized this year for their achievements, leadership and dedication to advancing agriculture. The scholarships totaling $14,000 support undergraduate and graduate students pursuing careers in animal sciences, nutrition, veterinary medicine and innovation in animal agriculture. Since the program’s inception, LAN has awarded more than $140,000.
Applications came from students across the U.S. and Canada, with strong representation from Kansas State University, Texas A&M University, Iowa State University, University of Connecticut, Texas Tech University and the University of Wyoming.
“Each scholarship recipient reflects the passion and commitment that drives progress in agriculture,” said Jeff Ast, commercial director for North and South America for Lallemand Animal Nutrition. “By supporting students at every stage of their education, we’re investing in the innovation and leadership that will shape the future of our industry. The future is in good hands.”
The 2025 scholarship recipients are:

Undergraduate recipient: Wyatt Dooley
Candidate for Bachelor of Animal Science, Kansas State University
Originally from Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, Wyatt Dooley is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in animal science and industry at Kansas State University, focusing on swine nutrition and applied research. While at college, he has served as president of the Block & Bridle club, served as a peer mentor for his major, and competed on the horse judging team. “The smallest organisms on earth often hold the biggest potential for change,” Dooley said, reflecting on how microbial solutions can drive innovation and sustainability in livestock production.

Undergraduate recipient: Brianna Meyer
Candidate for Bachelor of Dairy Science, University of Wisconsin–Madison
Brianna Meyer of Chilton, Wisconsin, is a junior studying dairy science at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and preparing for a career in large-animal veterinary medicine. She has earned leadership honors in Holstein and Brown Swiss youth organization programs and assists with serotonin and lactation research with Dr. Laura Hernandez. “Partnering in microbial solutions is about collaborating and embracing innovation,” Meyer said, reflecting on how growing up on her family dairy shaped her approach to science and guiding her philosophy as an aspiring veterinarian.

Graduate recipient: Kylie Konyn
Candidate for M.S. Animal Science, Cornell University
Kylie Konyn, a third-generation dairy farmer from San Diego, California, is pursuing a master’s degree in animal science at Cornell University, focusing on transition dairy cow health and nutrition. She combines farm experience with advanced research to develop solutions that improve herd health and farm profitability. “I don’t just see science; I see a vision of progress, responsibility and hope,” Konyn said, describing how microbial solutions turn research into practical strategies for producers.

Graduate recipient: Saroj Khatiwada
Candidate for Ph.D. Animal Sciences, The Ohio State University
Saroj Khatiwada, originally from Hetaunda, Nepal, is an animal science doctoral candidate at The Ohio State University, specializing in probiotic-based interventions for viral infections in turkeys. He is a founder of the American Association of Avian Pathologists student chapter and serves as a peer reviewer for Poultry Science. “Large changes in sustainable agricultural solutions need a partnered approach to be effective worldwide,” Khatiwada said, highlighting the global importance of his research.

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine recipient: Noah Larson
Candidate for Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Kansas State University
Noah Larson, from Louisburg, Kansas, is a second-year veterinary medicine student at Kansas State University and a commissioned U.S. Army officer through the Health Professions Scholarship Program. He focuses his studies on food-animal medicine and aims to provide veterinary services globally to improve animal care and public health. “Partnering in microbial solutions for a changing world means using science and collaboration to address challenges in animal health, food safety and sustainability,” Larson said.
