Lallemand Animal Nutrition Launches MAGNIVA Platinum for Mexican Producers

Research-backed forage inoculant delivers feedout flexibility, improved stability and nutrient retention

Lallemand Animal Nutrition unveils MAGNIVA® Platinum in Mexico, expanding access to its most advanced forage inoculant technology for dairy and beef producers. Backed by extensive research and developed with producer needs in mind, MAGNIVA Platinum helps maximize dry matter recovery, nutrient retention and aerobic stability, while offering greater feedout flexibility.

MAGNIVA Platinum combines three elite strains of lactic acid bacteria with a high-activity enzyme package to support fast, controlled fermentation and long-term silage stability. The formulation features patented Lentilactobacillus (formerly Lactobacillus) hilgardii CNCM I-4785, a unique strain developed through more than 10 years of research, in combination with L. buchneri NCIMB 40788 and Pediococcus pentosaceus NCIMB 12455. Together, these strains have been shown to significantly improve fermentation quality, aerobic stability and dry matter retention in corn silage after just 15 days of fermentation, while also delivering strong long-term stability across a range of forage types and management conditions.

“Managing input costs and maximizing efficiency are critical to maintaining profitability,” said Jeff Ast, Commercial Director, Americas, Lallemand Animal Nutrition. “Producers can improve profitability by optimizing silage quality, which is foundational to animal performance and helps reduce reliance on purchased feeds. MAGNIVA Platinum gives producers greater control at feedout while protecting the value of their forages.”

MAGNIVA Platinum represents the latest advancement in forage inoculant technology, delivering best in class performance across a wide range of silage types and management strategies. Built on proprietary research and proven strain technology, it helps producers protect forage quality, preserve nutrients and maintain aerobic stability under both routine and challenging conditions, giving them greater confidence and flexibility in their feeding programs.

The innovation behind MAGNIVA Platinum is supported by research conducted across North America, including work at the Lallemand Animal Nutrition Forage Center of Excellence and the Lethbridge Research and Development Centre. Studies have demonstrated improvements in fermentation quality, hygiene characteristics, aerobic stability and feed efficiency when silage is treated with the unique combination of Pediococcus pentosaceus NCIMB 12455, L. hilgardii CNCM I-4785 and L. buchneri NCIMB 40788.

“For Mexican producers, forage quality is essential to herd performance and profitability,” Ast added. “MAGNIVA Platinum builds on decades of silage research and reflects our long-term investment in solutions that deliver measurable results on farm.”

MAGNIVA Forage inoculants are backed by more than 20 years of research and on-farm use. With the introduction of MAGNIVA Platinum, Lallemand Animal Nutrition continues to strengthen its portfolio of research-backed tools designed to help producers protect forage quality from harvest through feedout.
