Measuring colostrum quality 

Colostrum plays an essential role in piglet survival and growth. 

Neonatal piglets rely on colostrum to provide antibodies (IgG, IgA, IgM) as unlike humans they don’t obtain any via the placenta. 

Colostrum (IgG) is directly responsible for providing immunity to piglets and varies between sows and herds.

The use of the specific live yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae var. boulardii CNCM I-1079 (LEVUCELL SB) in feed has been demonstrated in many scientific and field trials to be an efficient nutritional solution that helps modulate the farrowing process and improve colostrum quality.
